DUI Checkpoints Planned This Weekend In Long Beach Area
Police are planning several checkpoints in the Long Beach area during Super Bowl weekend.
LONG BEACH, CA — Between now and Super Bowl Sunday police will deploy additional officers for saturation patrols and DUI checkpoints aimed at getting intoxicated drivers off the road.
Checkpoints are slated for Long Beach and nearby communities.
Drivers charged with a first-time DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license, according to the LAPD.

Thursday, Feb. 8
- DUI checkpoint 6 PM to 11 PM at Pacific Coast Highway and Figueroa Street (Harbor City/Wilmington area)
Friday, Feb. 9

- DUI checkpoint from 6 PM to 2 AM in the West Division area (the Port of Long Beach, the area west of the 710 Freeway and a large portion of Central Long Beach)
Saturday, Feb. 10
- DUI Saturation Patrol from 6 PM to 2 AM in South Bureau (West Adams, South Los Angeles, Harbor Area)
