PARAMOUNT, CA — The FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a man captured on video throwing rocks at vehicles driven by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents during a protest in Paramount Saturday afternoon.

The FBI said the suspect, who is seen wearing a "Zacatecas" baseball jersey, a face covering and a white hat, should be considered damaged government property and injured a federal officer when he threw rocks at passing ICE vehicles.

The FBI said in a statement that he should be considered "armed and dangerous," and anyone with information should contact the agency at 1-800-225-5324.

The FBI's announcement comes amidst several immigration raids and protests that took place in Los Angeles County over the weekend. The predominantly Latino community of Paramount, however, appeared to take center stage in what city officials said was a significant presence of federal agents. However, no raids were being conducted in Paramount, city officials said.

The prescene of ICE agents in city was because there is a Homeland Security office in the area, according to Paramount Mayor Peggy Lemons, who said the officer has been located in the city since 2007. But given the agencies activities across the county over the weekend, their prescene prompted a protest.

Video captured of the protest shows large crowds scattered across Paramount streets engaging with ICE agents. Some people can be seen in those videos throwing items at ICE vehicles driving on the streets.

As the protests became increasingly more chaotic, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department responded to the area and began throwing tear gas at people and shooting rubber bullets.

"We empathize with and support our community members who are feeling fear and uncertainty," Lemons said in a statement Sunday. "We deeply value every member of our immigrant community. We strongly object to enforcement actions targeting individuals who are simply working hard, living peacefully and contributing to our city."

Vice Mayor Brenda Olmos said that although Paramount doesn't have a say over federal enforcement actions, the city and its officials, some of whom were even at the protests over the weekend, stand with community members.

Still, Lemons and Olmos condemned people who were not participating "peacefully" in the protest.

"While we fully support the right to peacefully protest, we do not condone violence of any kind, including against law enforcement," Olmos said.

City officials said that although they are monitoring the situation closely and not working with ICE, these federal agencies are operating independently and not sharing information.

Paramount officials have shared their concerns with Gov. Gavin Newsom's office, who has accused Trump of provoking the situation in Los Angeles County on purpose when he deployed the National Guard over the weekend.

"To the people of Los Angeles and across the country who are protesting these immigration raids: Don't give them the spectacle they want," Newsom said over the weekend. "Never use violence. Speak out peacefully and in large numbers. I know many of you have been watching the news about this, so I thought it important to reach out."
