Fuego to Celebrate with 'Cinco De Mayathon'
Fuego will offer Mexican fiestas of food and fun as Hotel Maya celebrates 'Cinco De Maya' on May 5 - 7 in Long Beach.
From Pier Communications: Fuego is offering Mexican fiestas of food and fun during its “Cinco De Mayathon” as Hotel Maya celebrates Cinco De Maya on Friday May 5 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Mexican Food and Drink Specials on Saturday, May 6 starting at 11 a.m.; and Fuego’s Monthly Latin Brunch series stop in Mexico on Sunday, May 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Fuego’s authentic Mexico Sunday brunch will be accentuated by live Latin music with The Sounds of Mexico. Free Latin dance demonstrations including Salsa will also be presented.
Executive Chef Victor Juarez takes Fuego guests on a monthly culinary tour through Latin America in 2017 with a stop in Mexico in May. Fuego guests looking for an extended Mexican experience will enjoy the daily offerings of a Mexican specialty Steak Adobada, and one of the most popular desserts in Mexico Churros with Cajeta Caramel Sauce. The Mexican drink of the month is a refreshing Tamarind Margarita.

Fuego, the modern, Latin infused indoor-outdoor restaurant and lounge, offers a unique seaside setting featuring 13-foot-tall glass walls that fully retract with seating inside and on the patio area. Fuego’s stunning open-air views include the Pacific Ocean, Long Beach skyline and Queen Mary.

Fuego’s Cinco De Maya Fiesta
Cinco De Maya kicks off the 3-day weekend of fiestas beginning with Mexican lunch specials from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Cointreau will provide a variety of drink offers from 2:30-4:30 p.m., Pacifico will have two promotional assistants with beer specials from 5-7 p.m., and Live Mexican music along with a variety of Mexican dinner specials and an authentic Street Taco Cart will be served from 5-9 p.m.
Fuego’s Mexico Sunday Brunch
For May, Executive Chef Juarez has prepared a culinary tour stop in Mexico that begins with sensational Salads featuring Roasted Beet Salad with peppers sscabeche, cotija cheese and pepitas; Chipotle Caesar Salad; Kale & Arugula Berry Salad; along with a Cheese and Charcuterie Display; Smoked Salmon and Accompaniments; and sliced fresh fruit platter.
Ceviche Fuego features Shrimp Chipotle Ceviche, Mahi Mahi Sweet Onion Pickled, Orange, Papaya and Mexican Sea Bass Orange Ginger Citrus.
Fuego’s Taco Fiesta Station includes a fresh selection of tacos with Cilantro Jalapeno Grilled Skirt Steak, Tequila Lime Chicken and Mahi Mahi, Birria; along with fresh homemade salsas and shredded beef tamale with salsa roja.
Traditional Mexican entrees are ordered from the server and include a choice of Steak Adobado prepared Yucatan style with grilled filet mignon, adoba sauce, fried flour tortilla, sautéed Anaheim chiles and onions, and salsa fresca; Machaca and Eggs with shredded beef, eggs over easy, roasted garlic-chile de arbol salsa, Mexican red rice, guacamole and cream; Chilaquiles with fried corn tortilla, scrambled eggs, salsa ranchera, guacamole, jalapeno cream and refried pinto beans; Citrus Braised Pork Carnitas with fried pork carnitas, red pasilla tomato sauce, green onions, refried beans, Mexican red rice and warm corn tortillas; Chile Rellenos with tempura four cheese stuffed poblano pepper, fire roasted tomato sauce, cilantro green rice and refried beans; Huachinango “Veracruzana Style” with pan seared red snapper, peppers, onions, capers, potatoes tomatoes and herbed tomato sauce; Chicken Molewith poached chicken breast, chocolate mole negro, steamed rice, pepper escabeche, grilled chayote and carrots; or Grilled Lobster Tail with a 12-ounce lobster tail, butter lemon garlic sauce, steamed jasmine rice and grilled chayote salad – for an additional $10.
Delicious Mexican desserts offer an assortment of mini breakfast pastries, Mexican wedding cookies, chocolate tres leches cake, Mexican caramel flan; along with assorted mini cakes, vanilla raisin bread pudding, cinnamon-sugar Churros with cajeta caramel sauce and chocolate fondue.
The Latin American Brunch Series – Mexico costs $55.00 per adult and children, 13 and older; $27.50 for children, 12 and under; kids 5 and under feast for free; plus tax and gratuity. The Latin American Brunch series continues to El Salvador on June 25, Brazil on July 23, Chile on August 20, Venezuela onSeptember 17, Guatemala on October 29, Peru on November 19, and Nicaragua on December 17. The Latin American Brunch series’ first four stops were Cuba in January, Argentina in February, Costa Rica in March and Colombia in April.
