Guns Seized, 2 Arrested In Long Beach Traffic Stop

LONG BEACH, CA — A pair of handguns were recovered when two suspects were arrested during a traffic stop in Long Beach.

The traffic stop occurred about 5:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of East Via Carmelitos, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

As officers attempted to stop the vehicle, one of the suspects fled on foot, while the second remained in the vehicle. The fleeing suspect was detained, after a brief foot pursuit.

"During the investigation, officers recovered two firearms and discovered the suspects to be prohibited possessors," according to a police statement. "The suspects were arrested, and the investigation is ongoing."
