First, today's weather:

Cloudy and cool. High: 69 Low: 56.

Here are the top stories in Long Beach today:

  1. Take a look at the haul of 15 guns and rifles the PD seized! Over the weekend, gang detectives and the Coordinated Response Team served a warrant on a hit-and-run driver who had the bad idea of brandishing a firearm. (If the recipient of the warrant had sold these guns at the recent buy-back event, he could’ve made some serious cash.) (PD on FB)
  2. On Saturday afternoon, the paramedics had to take three people to hospitals after a stabbing occurred. Two men and a woman were arguing about a parking spot on Bennett Avenue near First Street (Belmont Shore). One of the three, a 32-year-old Stallion Springs resident, was taken to jail and “booked on suspicion of assault with great bodily injury.” (LB Post)
  3. Two men were shot on Saturday afternoon in the 500 block of East PCH, between Linden Avenue and Atlantic Avenue. Officers located the men, who had gotten into an argument with a group of other men. Officers also found a gun. (KTLA)
  4. There was a hit-and-run on a sidewalk, but everyone knows who did it. A Sunday Halloween party ended with a domestic dispute in the 1300 block of Orange Avenue (near Anaheim Street). The adult male decided to finish off the incident by driving his blue sedan on the sidewalk, where he struck six people. He fled the scene, but the PD knows who they’re looking for. (LB Post)
  5. On Sunday morning, there was a police shooting. The LBPD went to the 1900 block of Harbor Avenue, where they found a man pointing a gun at officers. An officer shot the man and wounded him. It turns out that the man was a 28-year-old suicidal resident who pointed a CO2-powered paintball pistol at officers. (LBPD)
