LONG BEACH, CA — The Long Beach State of the City ceremony will take place on Jan. 14, where city officials will share how far the city has come since last year and look toward the future.

The ceremony will take place at the Long Beach Terrace Theater at 5 p.m. and requires an RSVP to attend.

"The progress of 2024, however, is not an endpoint — but a launchpad for even greater progress for our city. As we turn the page to 2025, we do so with optimism and purpose," Mayor Rex Richardson said in a statement.

Richardson said the city has plans to continue expanding housing opportunities, improving city services, supporting local businesses and building a thriving economy.

"Together, we will continue to shape a city we are proud to call home, where every resident has a chance to succeed — and where the best is yet to come," Richardson said.
