Long Beach, CA — October 10, 2024 — The Long Beach Community Action Partnership (LBCAP) is proud to announce its fiscal support for the continuation of the Long Beach Aging Services Collaborative (LBASC). Since its formation in 2019, the LBASC has served as a critical network, connecting service providers, community organizations, and advocacy groups to enhance the quality of life for older adults in Long Beach.

“When we learned that the grant funding was expiring, we recognized the urgency of stepping in to ensure this vital support continues. Older adults are the fabric of our community, and their contributions have shaped the Long Beach we know and love today. Our goal is to effectively meet their needs with compassion and understanding through the LBASC,” said Marisa Semense, Executive Director of LBCAP.

The Heart of Ida (HOI), a Long Beach non-profit that supports seniors in need with programs and services that sustain independence and connection within their community, has served as LBASC’s administering organization since August 2022. HOI has done outstanding work in facilitating and expanding the Collaborative’s impact by providing regular networking opportunities, educational workshops, and advocacy sessions, all of which help strengthen the local workforce and enhance services for older adults.

“We are honored to continue our stewardship of the Long Beach Aging Services Collaborative. The support from LBCAP reinforces our shared commitment to improving the lives of seniors in Long Beach. We are immensely grateful for this partnership and look forward to continuing our vital work through the Collaborative,” said Dina Berg, Founder/Executive Director of Heart of Ida.
LBCAP is dedicated to empowering Heart of Ida to maintain and cultivate strategic partnerships through the Collaborative that benefit the aging community. By supporting LBASC, LBCAP is ensuring that Long Beach remains a community where older adults can thrive.
