Stabbing Suspect Shot By Long Beach Police In North Long Beach
This is the second officer-involved shooting by Long Beach officers in eight days.

LONG BEACH, CA — The Long Beach Police Department shot a suspect who officers said stabbed a woman inside a home in North Long Beach Wednesday morning.
Officers received a report of the stabbing at 8:57 a.m. and were dispatched to the 300 block of 69th Way. When officers arrived, they contacted a man who was holding a knife, LBPD said.
"Officers ordered the suspect to drop the knife; the suspect refused to follow officers’ commands at which point the officer-involved shooting occurred," LBPD said in a statement.

According to preliminary investigation results, detectives said the suspect stabbed the woman before officers arrived. The woman was taken to a local hospital to treat a non-life-threatening stab wound.
Long Beach Fire Department paramedics transported the suspect to a local hospital to treat his injuries as well. No information about the suspect's injuries was available. No LBPD officers were injured in the shooting.

Homicide detectives at the scene are continuing to investigate the incident and additional information will be released at a later time, LBPD said.
This is the second officer-involved shooting by Long Beach officers in eight days. On Oct. 31, LBPD gang detectives were conducting surveillance in the city of Montebello when a suspect drove into two detective vehicles, which resulted in an officer-involved shooting.
The suspect was treated at a local hospital before he was medically cleared and arrested in connection to a September shooting, LBPD said.
