Long Beach Police Accepting Applicants For Youth Leadership Academy
Spaces are limited, and high school students are encouraged to apply by June 1.
LONG BEACH, CA — Applications for the 2025 Youth Leadership Academy are now open — but sign up fast as space is limited.
The Youth Leadership Academy is a free week-long program that allows Long Beach students to foster relationships with the city's police department.
"Through a series of engaging workshops, interactive discussions, and team-building exercises, participants will gain valuable insights into leadership principles, conflict resolution techniques, and community engagement strategies," the Long Beach Police Department said in a statement Friday.

The academy will take place from Monday, June 16, to Friday, June 20, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Jordan High School.
Breakfast, lunch and snack will be provided for those who attend, police said.

High School students are encouraged to apply by June 1 to ensure a space, police said.
"By investing in the development of our youth, the LBPD aims to build trust, inspire future leaders, and strengthen the bond between our department and the community we serve," police said in a statement.
