Long Beach Police Shoot At Armed Woman
According to Long Beach police, the woman pointed a gun at officers during a standoff.

LONG BEACH, CA — Long Beach police arrested a woman early Mondy morning after an hours-long standoff near Downtown Long Beach.
At about 8:55 p.m. on Sunday, police received reports of a woman with a gun in the 1000 block of Long Beach Boulevard. When officers arrived at the scene, they saw the woman before she went into her residence and barricaded herself inside.
"At one point, she opened the door and pointed the firearm towards officers, which resulted in an officer-involved shooting." LBPD said in a statement.

SWAT officers responded to the scene and attempted to de-escalate the situation. After about four hours of unsuccessful attempts to make contact with the suspect, SWAT officers deployed gas.
At about 2:15 a.m., the woman surrendered to police. Paramedics took the woman to a local hospital to treat a gunshot wound in her upper body that she sustained during the officer-involved shooting.

LBPD recovered a replica firearm at the scene. No police officers were injured and the investigation is ongoing.
Law enforcement is currently reviewing footage recorded on body-worn cameras and a full multi-level review will be conducted, as with all officer-involved shootings. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office will conduct an independent investigation of the incident.
