A woman was swept away by a storm-swollen river in Los Angeles Friday morning.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A woman was rescued by helicopter after she was swept away in the storm-swollen Tujunga Wash in the San Fernando Valley Friday morning.
Rescue crews responded at around 8 a.m. Friday to the wash near Branford Street, north of Roscoe Boulevard in Arleta, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
"Due to the rapid flow of stormwater, she traveled downstream before being rescued by an LAFD rescue helicopter crew using a hoist cable and harness near the Lankershim rescue point," the LAFD's Jennifer Middleton said.
