Man Accused to Assaulting and Kidnapping Mother of His Child Pleads Not Guilty
Isaul Sandoval ed law enforcement officers on a high-speed chase, prosecutors allege.

A Long Beach man who allegedly assaulted and kidnapped the mother of his child, then led law enforcement officers on a high-speed chase, pleaded not guilty today to three felony counts.
Isaul Sandoval, 27, is charged with one count each of injuring a child’s parent, kidnapping and evading an officer, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Sandoval allegedly assaulted his child’s mother, forced the woman into his car and drove away Monday, according to Deputy District Attorney Presciliano Duran.

The woman escaped from the car at some point, authorities said.
Sandoval led law enforcement officers on a high-speed chase from Paramount to Compton, then got out of his car and fled, but was ultimately arrested, prosecutors said.

The criminal complaint alleges that Sandoval has a conviction for assault with a deadly weapon in 2007, receiving stolen property in 2008 and unlawful driving or taking of a vehicle in 2011.
Sandoval is due back in a Compton courtroom Oct. 23 for a hearing to determine if there is enough evidence for him to stand trial.
He faces a maximum 23-year state prison term if he is convicted as charged, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
