Man Burned in Fire at VA Hospital in Long Beach
The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A 70-year-old man was burned in a fire early Friday at a Veterans Administration hospital in Long Beach.
The fire at the facility at 5901 E. 7th St. was reported at 12:40 a.m. and was extinguished by sprinklers by the time firefighters arrived, Long Beach Fire Department Capt. Jim Arvizu said.

Staff informed firefighters that a 70-year-old man had sustained burns, Arvizu said, adding that the patient was first treated at the VA hospital and then transferred to another hospital's burn unit.
The man's condition was not available and his name has not been released. He was a patient in the hospital's hospice unit, according to the Press-Telegram.
