Man Dies After Being Shot Near Long Beach Park: Police

The shooting happened Thursday afternoon near Lincoln Park, police said.

LONG BEACH — Detectives are investigating a shooting near Lincoln Park in Long Beach that left a man dead Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

Police say the man was shot sometime around 4:23 p.m. in the 200 block of West Broadway.

It’s unclear who shot him or what prompted the shooting. Officers located the man in the area with a single gunshot wound, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Long Beach Fire Department personnel transported the man to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries, police said. His identity was not immediately revealed.
