Man Dies In Collapse Of Brick Wall In Long Beach

Good Samaritans were performing CPR on the mortally injured man when firefighters arrived.

LONG BEACH, CA — A man was killed Sunday when a brick wall or fence collapsed on him in a Long Beach neighborhood.

The collapse was reported about 6:50 p.m. Sunday in the 2200 block of Pasadena Avenue, at Hill Street, according to Long Beach Fire Department spokesman Jack Crabtree.

Good Samaritans were performing CPR on the mortally injured man when firefighters arrived and LBFD paramedics attempted advanced life-support measures before pronouncing the man dead at the scene.

There were indications work was being done on the wall or fence at the time but Crabtree said it was not clear whether the victim was working on the site.
