Man Falls Ill at Beginning of Dive off Naples, Dies
The victim had just entered the water at the entrance to Alamitos Bay when he complained of chest discomfort.

A man in his 40s died after falling ill at the beginning of an underwater dive off Naples in Long Beach, authorities said today.
The victim had just entered the water at the entrance to Alamitos Bay when he complained of chest discomfort, before lapsing in and out of consciousness, said Long Beach Fire Department spokesman Jake Heflin.
A radio call for assistance was received around 10:40 p.m. Wednesday, Heflin said, adding that the victim was transported to a hospital where he died at 11:10 p.m., Heflin said.
