LONG BEACH, CA — A man was fatally wounded Sunday morning in Long Beach, authorities said.

Officers dispatched at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday regarding a shooting in the 200 block of Falcon Avenue, just south of Broadway in the Alamitos Beach area, located a man with a gunshot wound to the upper body, the Long Beach Police Department reported.

Paramedics rushed him to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.

"Homicide detectives have responded to the scene to investigate," according to a police statement.
