Man Murdered Roommate After Argument Escalated At Home: LBPD
A Long Beach man is accused of fatally shooting his roommate after an argument, police said.
LONG BEACH, CA — A Long Beach man was arrested this week on suspicion of fatally shooting his roommate after an argument, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
The shooting occurred Feb. 14 at the pair's home on the 2200 block of Chestnut Avenue. Officers responded at around 2:36 a.m. and found a man, later identified as 36-year-old Jamie Jones, suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body, police said.
Officer rendered aid to Jones, who was then transported by the Long Beach Fire Department to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries, police said.

The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived, police said.
On Thursday, detectives located the suspect, Damion Videl Castro, 44, in Hollywood. He was arrested on charges of murder, prohibited possession of a firearm, prohibited possession of ammunition, a parole violation and a fugitive warrant. He is being held without bail, police said.

Danielle Mika Payne was also arrested on a charge of being an accessory to murder. She is being held on $50,000 bail.
The case will be presented by police to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for filing consideration, police said.
