Man Refuses To Cooperate With Officers After Being Shot In Long Beach: Police

The shooting happened Sunday night in the 900 block of Ohio Avenue, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

LONG BEACH, CA — A man was shot in Long Beach on Sunday but refused to cooperate with the investigation, according to police.

Details about the shooting were limited, but police say they found the man with a gunshot wound to his lower body just before 11 p.m. in the 900 block of Ohio Avenue. The area is in Long Beach's Rose Park neighborhood.

The man was taken by Long Beach Fire Department personnel to a local hospital, where he was treated for his injuries, according to the Long Beach Police Department, which added that he is expected to survive.

"The victim was uncooperative with the investigation," police said in a statement Monday. "The motive, circumstances of the shooting, and suspect information are under investigation."
