Man Shoots Gun Into Air During Argument: LBPD

LONG BEACH, CA — An argument between a man and a woman escalated when the man pulled out a gun and shot into the air, the Long Beach Police Department said.

Police received a report of a person with a gun in the 6700 block of Curtis Avenue at about 11:53 p.m. When officers arrived they located evidence that a shooting happened, but no injuries were reported.

Preliminary investigation results indicated that the man and the woman argued before the woman walked away. As the woman walked away, the suspect shot a round into the air.

The suspect fled the scene prior to officers' arrival, but two firearms were recovered at the scene. The investigation is ongoing and no additional information was available, LBPD said.
