Man Shot During Argument In North Long Beach

A man was shot during a group argument in North Long Beach near the city of Paramount late Sunday night, according to police.

LONG BEACH, CA — A man was shot during a group argument in North Long Beach near the city of Paramount late Sunday night, according to police.

Long Beach police received a call about a shooting in the 2500 block of East 67th Street at about 11:38 p.m. When officers arrived, they found evidence of a shooting but no people were originally present at the scene.

A short while later, a man who was suffering from a non-fatal gunshot wound in his lower body returned to the scene after previously fleeing for his safety. Long Beach Fire Department provided medical aid to the man and transported him to a local hospital, authorities said.

Preliminary investigation results revealed that the victim and two other men were on the sidewalk when two other men approached them and began to argue with them. The situation escalated when one of the two suspects fired a gun at the victims.

After the shot went off, the victims ran away and the suspects got into a car and fled the scene before officers arrived.
