Man Shot In Long Beach Self-Transports To Hospital
The wound was not considered life-threatening, police added.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A man was shot in Long Beach and self-transported to a hospital, authorities said Saturday.
Officers responded at about 11 p.m. Thursday to the area of Cedar Avenue and Ninth Street for a report of gunshots heard, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
"The preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was walking in the area when he heard gunshots and sustained the gunshot wound (to the upper body)," according to a police statement.

Suspect information and the motive for the shooting were under investigation.
