LONG BEACH, CA — A Long Beach salon is increasing security measures after video showed a man sitting in a chair outside the business and exposing himself for more than 20 minutes.

Rachelle Daniels, owner of Static Salon, told the Long Beach Post her employees said the man had come into the salon seeking a haircut Saturday afternoon, but was told he needed an appointment. He lingered for a few moments, walked out without saying anything and pulled up a chair.

That's when he exposed himself, she said. When employees shut the blinds, he moved the chair in front of the glass door, which doesn't have blinds, she said.

Video obtained by KTTV-TV showed the young man exposing himself as he sat in the chair.

Fiona McLaughlin, a receptionist at the salon, told the TV station the man exposed himself within 10 minutes of leaving the salon and sitting in the chair. She called police.

"It was just insane," McLaughlin said.

Daniels shared the story in a since-deleted post on Instagram. On Sunday, the salon thanked people in a Facebook post who reached out about their safety. The salon took down the post and said it should have placed a trigger warning on it to allow followers to skip the post.

Daniels told the Long Beach Post they'll install new security cameras and tweak closing procedures to ensure more staff are in the salon at the end of the day.
