LONG BEACH, CA — An argument at a Long Beach motel Saturday morning led to the stabbing of a man and the arrest of the woman believed to have wielded the weapon. The stabbing occurred at 10:24 a.m. in the 1400 block of West Pacific Coast Highway, according to Long Beach Police Department spokesman Richard Mejia. Officers discovered the man with non-life-threatening stab wounds to his upper body and paramedics took him to a hospital for treatment, Mejia said. The woman had fled in a vehicle before officers arrived. "A short while later, officers located a parked vehicle matching the description of the vehicle the suspect fled in," Mejia said. "Officers contacted the suspect, arrested her, and subsequently transported her to Long Beach City jail for booking." The suspect was identified as 36-year-old Regina McCutcheon of Long Beach. She was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. She was held in the Long Beach jail in lieu of $55,000, according to sheriff's booking information.—City News Service
