Men Exchange Gunfire In Long Beach, 1 Arrested: Police

Police say nobody was injured in the shooting, but one of the men was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

LONG BEACH, CA — An 18-year-old has been arrested after exchanging gunfire with a man in Long Beach on Monday evening, according to police.

The shooting happened around 6:50 p.m. in the 2300 block of Long Beach Boulevard, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

One of the men began shooting at the other, who then returned fire, according to police. Nobody was struck during the shooting, police said.

It's unclear what sparked the shooting or who shot first, but police say they located one of the suspects, 18-year-old Los Angeles resident Brylen Morales, near the scene of the crime.

Morales was taken into custody on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and is being held on $1 million bail, according to police.
