Migrants Arrested After Sailing From Mexico To Long Beach
Several people on a boat were dropped off in Long Beach but were arrested soon after by federal agents, authorities said.
LONG BEACH, CA — The Department of Homeland Security Investigations says it arrested 12 people suspected of trying to enter the United States illegally on Memorial Day.
HSI agents responded early Monday morning to a call from U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents, who saw 12 people being dropped off by a pleasure boat in Long Beach, according to authorities.
The HSI said in a post on X that the 12 people were Mexican citizens who had traveled up the California coast to Long Beach.

A picture posted by the federal agency shows the 12 people wrapped in mylar blankets and wearing zip ties.
