UPDATE: Estella Alemon was found safely Thursday at her friend's home, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

LONG BEACH, CA — Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding an at-risk elderly woman who was last seen walking away from her Long Beach home Wednesday afternoon.

Police say Estella Alemon, 78, was last seen in her front yard of her Long Beach home before walking away and out of sight around 4 p.m. It's unclear where she is heading, but she has been found before by her family nearby, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Alemon is 5 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs 135 pounds. She has brown hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a colored top, black pajama pants with pink and blue moons and stars.

She is believed to be on foot and using her walker, police said. She also may be experiencing cognitive and medical condititions, police said.

The LBPD asks that anyone who sees Alemon contact authorities at 562-435-6711.
