  1. The LBPD issued an at-risk missing person alert for Christopher Timmons, who was last seen Thursday afternoon in the 1000 block of Linden Avenue. If you see him, please call the Missing Person's Detail at (562) 570-7246. (LBPD)
  2. LBUSD’s Dr. Jill Baker announced it would conduct “vaccination surveillance” of students. LBUSD spokesperson Chris Eftychiou explained that this term refers to asymptomatic testing of unvaccinated students, which includes those under age 12. Tests will likely involve an anterior nasal swab. (LBReport)
  3. A 61-year-old man was found unresponsive on the street near Stearns Street and Carfax Avenue. He was bruised and without his possessions – including his clothes. The LBPD took a report but cannot determine if a crime was committed. (LB Post)
  4. The City announced that it currently offers third COVID vaccine doses to residents “who are moderate to severely immunocompromised.” It’s still waiting for the FDA to weigh in on the safety and effectiveness of a third shot before offering it to everyone in the fall. (City of LB)
  5. Long Beach City College Head Aquatics Coach Chris Oeding is credited with supporting the United States Water Polo Women’s Senior National Team to win the team’s third gold medal in Tokyo. The team defeated Spain 14-5. (LB Local News)
