Missing Teen Rescued, Suspect Arrested At Long Beach Motel

The teen had been missing since March, according to police.

LONG BEACH, CA — A Long Beach man has been arrested in connection with the disappearance of a missing teen who was found earlier this month, according to police.

Police say 29-year-old Joshua Stephen Brown arranged to meet with the 17-year-old girl last month.

The girl was seen last on March 4, and family members reported her missing a week later, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Detectives began searching for the teen and found her at a motel near the 4000 block of Long Beach Boulevard on April 4, police said. Brown, meanwhile, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of arranging a meeting with a minor for lewd purposes, according to the LBPD.

“This case is a testament to the relentless work and dedication of our detectives and officers,” said Long Beach Police Chief Wally Hebeish. “Their efforts led to the safe recovery of a missing teenager and the arrest of the suspect."
