Motorcyclist Dies Year After Crash In East Long Beach
The crash happened in the area of Studebaker Road and Atherton Street in 2024, according to police.
LONG BEACH, CA — A motorcyclist who was hospitalized last year following a crash in East Long Beach has died, according to police.
Long Beach police say the motorcyclist was riding a 2022 Yamaha motorcycle southbound on Studebaker Road just before 9 p.m. on March 24, 2024 when he collided with a car making a left turn from northbound Studebaker Road onto westbound Atherton Street.
The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, according to the Long Beach Police Department. It's unclear if anyone in the other car was injured in the crash.

A year later on March 31, the motorcyclist died from his injuries, according to the LBP. Detectives were notified of the death on Monday, April 7, police said.
The motorcyclist was identified by police as 70-year-old Long Beach resident Leonard Tanguay.

Speed, impaired driving and distracted driving do not appear to be factors in the crash, police said in a statement Tuesday.
