Motorcyclist Ejected, Killed In Long Beach Crash: LBPD
The crash happened Thursday night in the area of Redondo Avenue and Anaheim Street, according to police.
LONG BEACH, CA — Detectives are investigating a crash Thursday night that left a motorcyclist dead in Long Beach, police said.
Police say a motorcyclist was driving northbound on Redondo Avenue, near Anaheim Street, around 10:27 p.m. when he sideswiped a pickup truck.
The motorcyclist then lost control of the vehicle, collided with a curb and was ejected, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Despite efforts by Long Beach Fire Department personnel to save his life, the man died at the scene, police said. He was only identified as a 27-year-old Long Beach resident.

The driver of the pickup truck, identified by police as a 63-year-old Lomita resident, cooperated with the investigation, according to the LBPD.

Investigators believe speed was a factor in the crash. However, the LBPD did not clarify whether the motorcyclist or the pickup driver may have been speeding.
