- The LB Conservation Corp is replanting trees that fell victim to disease or drought. At this time, they focus their attention on 710 corridor, where the nearby port and truck traffic reduce air quality. (Spectrum News 1)
- The effort to recall District Attorney George Gascón went to his own neighborhood, where organizers set up shop on the 5500 block of East The Toledo. The goal is to collect at least 580,000 qualified signatures by October 27. (NBC)
- Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia reminds residents that the city can only achieve community immunity if 70-80% of the population receives the vaccine. At this time, the number is 64%. (LB Press Telegram)
- The LB PD is asking for the public’s help in solving a homicide that took place on the 3600 block of Santa Fe Avenue. A 17-year-old boy was killed in what appears to have been a robbery-gone-bad. Please call Leticia Gamboa at (562) 570-7244 if you have information. (LB PD)
