It’s another beautiful day in Long Beach, the Aquatic Capital of America!

The Five News Headlines That Everyone’s Talking About

  1. The LB PD is actively searching for the person(s) responsible for shooting paintballs at people, homes, and cars. Please call 562-435-6711 with information. (#LBPD)
  2. Only 152 migrant children remain at the LB Convention Center shelter. The other 584 were reunited with family members or vetted sponsors. (LB Press Telegram)
  3. The City issued 124 citations for violations of its COVID-19 health orders. Eleven were for people not following the mask mandate. (LB Post)
  4. The Homeless Services Division will split into two divisions come June 15. An Operations Division will handle finances and oversight. A Programs Division will engage with the homeless needing services. At a last count, there are 2,034 people experiencing homelessness. (LB Press Telegram)
  5. Councilwoman Stacy Mungo Flanigan proposes free block party permits this year to get more people out of their houses and on the streets for Fourth of July weekend. The real goal is to curtail fireworks use, which is illegal in the city. (LB Post)
