PCH Closes In Torrance After Car Strikes Power Pole

There are live wires down. It's not clear when the road will be reopened.

TORRANCE, CA - A section of Pacific Coast Highway was closed in the Torrance area Friday after a vehicle crashed into a power pole, police said.

The crash happened about 4:30 a.m. east of Crenshaw Boulevard, the Torrance Police Department said.

The motorist suffered a minor injury in the single-vehicle crash, police said.

Some live power wires were downed as a result of the crash,

That prompted authorities to close PCH from Crenshaw to Pennsylvania Avenue while crews worked to clear the scene.

The closure was continuing nearly four hours later, police said.
