LONG BEACH, CA — A pedestrian, believed to be walking outside a marked crosswalk, was struck and killed by a hit-and-run vehicle in Long Beach, authorities said Sunday. Officers dispatched to the scene in the area of Anaheim Street and Orange Avenue about 11 p.m. Saturday located the pedestrian in the roadway, the Long Beach Police Department reported. Arriving paramedics pronounced the male pedestrian dead at the scene. Police said a newer model Chevrolet Silverado was going westbound on Anaheim Street, when it allegedly struck the pedestrian in the roadway, east of Orange Avenue. Police believe the pedestrian was walking outside a marked crosswalk and the driver fled the scene in the newer model Chevrolet Silverado. The Long Beach Police Department urged anyone with any information regarding the crash to call them at 562-570-7355.
