Pedestrian Struck And Killed By SUV In Long Beach
A man died after he was struck by a vehicle in Long Beach Wednesday night, police said.
LONG BEACH, CA — A pedestrian was killed after being struck by an SUV in Long Beach Wednesday night, according to police.
Officers were dispatched about 7:10 p.m. Wednesday to Atherton Street and Ashbrook Avenue in response to a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Officers determined the pedestrian was walking southbound in an unmarked crosswalk when he was struck by a Honda Crosstour driving eastbound on Atherton, police said.

The man was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries, police said.
The driver of the vehicle, a 21-year-old Los Angeles man, remained at the scene and cooperated with police. Officers do not believe he was impaired at the time of the crash, police said.
