Police Alert: Drunk Driving Checkpoint Scheduled in Long Beach Saturday Night

The Long Beach Police Department will be setting up a checkpoint Saturday evening to catch drunk drivers and check for drivers licenses.

Long Beach Police will conduct a drunk driving checkpoint beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday, the department announced.

"Officers will be contacting drivers passing through the checkpoint for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment," the department said in a news release.  "Officers will also check drivers for proper licensing and will strive to delay motorists only momentarily."

The checkpoint is scheduled to last until 3 a.m. Sunday, the release states.
