Police: Armed Man Holed Up Inside Long Beach Home Surrenders Peacefully
An armed man surrendered to police after holing up inside a Long Beach home for approximately 90 minutes, authorities said.
LONG BEACH, CA — An armed man surrendered to police after holing up inside a Long Beach home for approximately 90 minutes, authorities said Monday
Officers were dispatched at about 7 p.m. Sunday to a report of a person armed with a gun in the 4900 block of Locust Avenue, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
"The preliminary investigation revealed that a male adult suspect brandished a firearm during a verbal dispute with another person," according to a police statement. "Arriving officers were able to locate and contain the suspect, who retreated into a nearby residence."

The suspect allegedly refused officers' commands to surrender and negotiators as well as a SWAT team were dispatched to the scene.
"After approximately 90 minutes of negotiating with the suspect, he peacefully surrendered and was taken into custody," police said.

No injuries were reported.
