Police Identify Long Beach Fatal Stabbing Victim

Juan Santiago, a Long Beach resident, was fatally stabbed Thursday night in the 1100 block of East 11th Street.

Police today identified a 34-year-old man who was fatally stabbed during a fight with two suspects in Long Beach.

Juan Santiago of Long Beach was stabbed at around 10:10 p.m. Thursday in the 1100 block of East 11th. Street, according to a statement from the Long Beach Police Department.

The victim got into an argument with two people police described as "acquaintances." The dispute escalated into a fight and during the altercation Santiago "was stabbed multiple times in the torso by an unknown object," police said.

Long Beach firefighters pronounced Santiago dead at the scene, according to police.

Both suspects remain outstanding. It is unclear what sparked the argument, police said.

Santiago lived in the area where he was killed, they said.
