Police Search For Driver In Hit-And-Run Crash That Killed Long Beach Pedestrian

Police are asking for the public's help finding a driver wanted for a fatal hit-and-run crash.

LONG BEACH, CA — Police on Tuesday asked for the public's help identifying the driver wanted for a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian.

The crash occurred at around 2 a.m. on Aug. 15 at 31st Street and Atlantic Avenue, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

The preliminary investigation found that a white Chrysler was traveling southbound on Atlantic Avenue when it struck a pedestrian who was in the road. The driver continued south on Atlantic after the collision and did not stop and render aid as required by law, according to police.

The victim was treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries two days later, police said.

The victim lived in Long Beach. His name was withheld pending notification of his family.
