📰 Here are the top stories in Long Beach today:

1) On Tuesday morning, 2,683 residents woke up to a power outage. The first reports came in from East Spring Street in the El Dorado Park area at 7:07 a.m. By 8:53 a.m., power was restored. There is no reason given for the outage at this point. (Patch, SCE)

2) It’s official! The first nonstop flight from Long Beach to Nashville took off on Sunday. The expansion of Southwest Airlines’ flights was celebrated with live music. “The flights to Nashville will depart seven mornings per week at 9 a.m., utilizing the airline’s Boeing 737 fleet.” (Long Beach Business Journal)

3) Have you been thinking of taking advantage of the city’s “Pre-Approved Accessory Dwelling Unit (PAADU) Program?” You only have until November 30 to submit the plans. If your design is approved, property owners can see the information on the city’s website and connect with you “to obtain construction documents for a fee negotiated by and between the design professional and property owner.” (City of Long Beach Development Services)

4) The Long Beach State men’s basketball team won Monday’s season opener against Cal Baptist! The final score was 79-64. Despite the win, the team’s coach was cautious. “We didn’t play great, but I’ve got guys cheering for each other and sharing the ball. As long as guys have that attitude, we’re going to get better,” he said. (The562.org)
