$20,000 Reward Offered For Info In Compton Double Murder

COMPTON, CA — The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has approved a $20,000 reward for information on the fatal shooting of a mother and daughter in Compton in April.

La'von Hall, 45, and her daughter Ma'Laysia Martin, 22, were stopped at a red light on Caldwell Street and South Central Avenue the night of April 1 when someone in a car shot at them, according to authorities.

They both died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Investigators believe the shooting suspect is Hall's estranged boyfriend, Donte Lamont Brown, 41, of Compton. A month later, his whereabouts remain unknown, though the LASD said he is known to frequent the Compton and Long Beach areas.
