A Champion of Community and Global Service
Dr. Gupta’s leadership has extended far beyond medicine. She has served as president of the Indian Medical Association of Southern California, the Federation of Indian Associations, and the India Association of Southern California. Locally, she founded the Global Peace Foundation, which organizes the annual Women’s Leadership Summit and World Peace Day. She currently serves as President of the United Nations Association of the USA (Long Beach Chapter) and as Commissioner of Health & Human Services for the City of Long Beach.

Her compassion is evident in hands-on action: for more than 25 years, she has fed the homeless, distributed toys and blankets, and helped provide more than 10,000 meals to children worldwide. She is also the author of three books on women’s health and youth drug prevention.

A Perfect Fit for Rotary’s Avenues of Service
Dr. Gupta’s life work reflects Rotary’s Avenues of Service, from Career Avenue through her ethical leadership in medicine, to Community Service in Long Beach, to International Service through peace and humanitarian projects, to Youth Service through education and prevention programs.
