A music video production transformed the beach around the Belmont Pool into a temporary war zone. Also, a police pursuit ended near Locust and PCH. Finally, youth baseball is back, y’all!

- Sadboy2005 and singer Trisha Paytas transformed the coastline next to the Belmont Pool into a WWII scene, complete with armed soldiers. Tuesday's beach goers witnessing the chaos learned that the “pop, punk, emo” band was filming its latest music video. (CA News Times)
- The Washington neighborhood near Locust Avenue and PCH saw the end of a car chase in a suspected narcotics case. Because one suspect fled on foot, the PD set up a perimeter, brought in the K9s, and spent several hours searching the area – without results. (LB Post)
- Youth baseball players are back at Whaley Park with Long Beach PONY events. Long Beach Little League and the Heartwell Park program are back, too. (LB Post Sports)
- On Monday, Mayor Robert Garcia will visit the Spark at Midtown affordable housing community at 1900 Long Beach Blvd. Construction finished early this year, and residents moved in. “Half of the 95 homes are occupied by individuals and families who have been homeless. The other half serve [sic] families earning up to 60% of area median income.” (PR Web)
- LB Airport recovery continues at a slower pace. “June saw 199,096 passengers travel through Long Beach, a 686.1% increase over the same month last year amid the pandemic but still down just over 35% compared to 2019. While increasing 2.2% from 2020, total passenger traffic from January through June remains 55.7% below 2019 levels.” Officials are looking to fall travelers to see an increase. (LB Business Journal)
