Shooting Victim In Critical Condition After Shooting In Alamitos Beach

A man is in critical condition after he was shot early Wednesday morning in the Alamitos Beach neighborhood, Long Beach police said.

LONG BEACH, CA — A man is in critical condition after he was shot early Wednesday morning in the Alamitos Beach neighborhood, Long Beach police said.

According to police, officers responded to a shooting report at 1:53 a.m. in the 1100 block of East 2nd Street. When LBPD arrived, officers found an adult man suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds in his upper body.

Long Beach Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital where he is listed in critical, but stable condition.

The suspect fled in an unknown direction before officers arrived, LBPD said. No addition suspect information was available and officers said the investigation is ongoing.
