While opponents of Prop 22 cheered, proponents protested that the there was “case law requiring the courts to guard the voters’ right of initiative.” Appeals are bound to be forthcoming. 3. North LB might be getting 84 new townhomes. The development was approved by the Planning Commission for the area around the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and South Street. Developers plan to call the project “Rhythm Long Beach.” However, things will move slowly, as there is some soil remediation that needs to be completed. (LB Post)
