Silver Alert Issued For Missing Long Beach Man

LONG BEACH, CA — A Silver Alert was issued Friday morning for a 68- year-old man who was last seen in Long Beach.
Edward Ringer, who suffers from a medical condition and may become disoriented, was last seen about 6 p.m. Thursday, according to the California Highway Patrol. The exact location was not disclosed.
Ringer is black, 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, gray and white pajama pants and black shoes, the CHP said.

Anyone who knows of Ringer's whereabouts was asked to call 911.
The purpose of the Silver Alert program is to establish a quick response system designed to issue and coordinate alerts following the unexplained or suspicious disappearance of an elderly person, or a person who is developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired, according to the CHP.
