Boy Brings Gun To School At Wilson High School
A boy was arrested for bringing a gun to the high school Friday morning in Long Beach, police said.

LONG BEACH, CA — A boy at Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach was arrested for bringing a gun to school on Friday, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Police responded to the high school at about 10:50 a.m. after being notified by school staff. When officers arrived, the boy had already been detained by a campus safety officer.
It was unclear whether or not the boy was a student at the school. Due to the potential threat, the campus was put under lockdown.

LBPD recovered a firearm at the scene and arrested the student. No injuries were reported, police said.
The boy was transported to Juvenile Booking and the investigation into the incident was ongoing, LBPD said.

The boy's arrest comes just three days after two 15-year-old students were arrested for bringing guns to school at Redondo Union High School two days in a row. The discoveries at the Redondo Beach school shook the community and prompted the campus to close for two days while police implemented additional security measures for student safety.
