🎃 Halloween Poll!
Will you celebrate Halloween this year? Tell us your plans! So far, 51.2% are turning off their porch lights, 37.2% will hand out candy, 4.7% are attending a party, and another 7% will accompany children to go trick-or-treating.

📰 Here are the top stories today in Long Beach:

1) The Long Beach Police Department arrested a 48-year-old man as a suspect in a non-fatal stabbing Monday morning. The assault happened in the 1000 Block of Pier G; the male stabbing victim was taken to the hospital. A dispute reportedly led to the stabbing. (LBPD)

2) If you have children going to middle or high school in the Long Beach Unified School District, listen up! We learned on Tuesday that the LBUSD launched an anonymous reporting system that lets students or adults report “serious concerns about students who may be struggling or potentially violent.” Called the Say Something Anonymous Reporting System, it's funded by the Sandy Hook Promise nonprofit. (LB Post)

3) The approved Pacific Place project violates the CA Environmental Quality Act, a judge ruled last week. The ruling pauses the development next to the Los Angeles River. “The judge said the city must halt any work on the project unless and until they prepare an environmental impact report addressing significant environmental, biological, recreational, and cultural impacts that the development could present.” As of Tuesday, the Long Beach City Attorney has not weighed in. (Press-Telegram)

4) The Washington Neighborhood Association plans a Dia de Los Muertos celebration on Saturday. Scheduled to run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., it will take place at 14th Street Park between Cedar Avenue and Pacific Avenue. There’ll be music and games. If you have traditional attire, you are encouraged to wear it! (WNALBC)

5) Mark your calendars! Long Beach Animal Care Services is hosting its first-ever Howl-o-ween Event this Saturday! Head to the shelter at 7700 East Spring Street between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. “Howl-o-ween will be a great evening with friends, family, and plenty of adoptable pets, said Mayor Robert Garcia.” Donate a bag of unopened dog treats, vote for the best cat room, wear your costume, and remember your pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge by bringing a photo to hang on the memorial wall and pet ofrenda.
