Suspect Arrested In Fatal Shooting Of Man In Long Beach
Police say they identified Deriana Cole, 19, of Compton as a suspect in the deadly May shooting.
LONG BEACH, CA β A 19-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in Long Beach in May, according to police.
Compton resident Deriana Cole is suspected of fatally shooting 19-year-old Atwater resident Jordan Mosby on the night of Tuesday, May 27, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Police say they found Mosby with a single gunshot wound to the upper body just before 11 p.m. in the 200 block of East Pacific Coast Highway. He died at the scene.

Detectives later identified Cole as a suspect in the shooting and learned she was already in custody at Long Beach City Jail on an unrelated charge, according to the LBPD.
Records show Cole was arrested on June 20 on suspicion of child abuse, carrying a loaded firearm, being a felon in possession of a firearm and brandishing a weapon in public.

She was re-booked for murder on Monday, according to police, who said her bail was set at $2 million.
Details about what led up to the shooting are not yet clear and remain under investigation.
LBPD detectives will present the case later this week to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, which will weigh whether there is enough evidence to charge Cole.
